Bass Lake State Beach
Located on State Route 10, in northwest Indiana, Bass Lake is Indiana's fourth largest natural lake. A 1/2 mile long beach offers swimming and wading. Bass Lake State Beach and campground are open from Memorial to Labor Day weekends. For information call: (219)772-3382

Charlestown
Charlestown State Park is located in Clark County with easy access from Interstate 65, eight miles west on State Route 62. Plan a picnic or hike to check it out. While hiking the rugged terrain, you will see Devonian fossil outcrops and areas of karst sinkhole topography. Birders should be alert for 72 species of birds, including blue birds, black vultures and an occasional Bald Eagle. Camping is available at Charlestown in late summer. McCormick's Creek
Unique limestone formations and scenic waterfalls are some of the beautiful highlights at Indiana's first State Park, McCormic's Creek. Hike through the thick wooded area or roam leisurely through the magnificent canyon surrounded by high cliffs. You'll notice the well-manicured grounds which were planted by the original owner and are being preserved to sustain the tranquil environment he created. For information call: (812)829-2235

Pokagon
Pokagon is located near Angola off Interstate 69. Natural lakes abound in this area and the park borders on Lake James and Snow Lake. Both offer abundant opportunities for boating, swimming and fishing. It will be a thrill to experience the 1/4 mile toboggan track at speeds of 35-40 miles per hour. The toboggan operates weekends from Thanksgiving Day through February, with extended holiday hours. For information call: (812)829-2235

Spring Mill
Spring Mill abounds in endless opportunities for recreation. The restored pioneer village is a delight as you travel through time to the early 1800's. Plan to take a boat ride into Twin Cave or walk into Donaldson cave. The Grissom Memorial honors Hoosier astronaut 'Gus' Grissom, one of the seven Mercury astronauts and America's second man in space. For information call: (812)849-4129

Chain O'Lakes

Shades State Park
Shades State Park is that peaceful place you 've been looking for. Located about 17 miles southwest of Crawfordsville (off State Route 47), it is a favorite for campers, hikers and canoeists. Monroe Lake

Patoka Lake
Rolling topography, scenic rock outcroppings and an area rich in local history provide a splendid backdrop for for campers and hikers at Patoka Lake in souther Indiana. Fort Harrison State Park
Truly one of Indiana's natural treasures, this state park is carved out of 1,700 acres of the former Fort Benjamin Harrison on Indianapolis' east side. It includes one of the largest unbroken tracts of hardwood in central Indiana, several lakes, more than 6 miles of hiking trails with a hard surface multi-use path and a huge heron rookery. Turtle Creek Reservoir
Turtle Creek Reservoir has more hungry bass than you can believe. Fishermen drive hundreds of miles to enjoy this wonderful managed reservoir, and it is worth the drive. West Boggs Lake
This lake in Loogootee (Martin County) is well-stocked with bass, crappie, blue gill and catfish, thanks to recent hatchery and water quality programs making it a veritable fisherman's paradise. For information call: (317)232-4080

Brookville Lake

Monroe Lake
