Bass Lake State Beach
Located on State Route 10, in northwest Indiana, Bass Lake is Indiana's fourth largest natural lake. A 1/2 mile long beach offers swimming and wading. Bass Lake State Beach and campground are open from Memorial to Labor Day weekends. For information call: (219)772-3382

Charlestown
Charlestown State Park is located in Clark County with easy access from Interstate 65, eight miles west on State Route 62. Plan a picnic or hike to check it out. While hiking the rugged terrain, you will see Devonian fossil outcrops and areas of karst sinkhole topography. Birders should be alert for 72 species of birds, including blue birds, black vultures and an occasional Bald Eagle. Camping is available at Charlestown in late summer. McCormick's Creek
Unique limestone formations and scenic waterfalls are some of the beautiful highlights at Indiana's first State Park, McCormic's Creek. Hike through the thick wooded area or roam leisurely through the magnificent canyon surrounded by high cliffs. Pokagon
Pokagon is located near Angola off Interstate 69. Natural lakes abound in this area and the park borders on Lake James and Snow Lake. Both offer abundant opportunities for boating, swimming and fishing. It will be a thrill to experience the 1/4 mile toboggan track at speeds of 35-40 miles per hour. Spring Mill
Spring Mill abounds in endless opportunities for recreation. The restored pioneer village is a delight as you travel through time to the early 1800's. Plan to take a boat ride into Twin Cave or walk into Donaldson cave. Fort Harrison State Park
Truly one of Indiana's natural treasures, this state park is carved out of 1,700 acres of the former Fort Benjamin Harrison on Indianapolis' east side. It includes one of the largest unbroken tracts of hardwood in central Indiana, several lakes, more than 6 miles of hiking trails with a hard surface multi-use path and a huge heron rookery.
