Bayswater Point State Park
Bayswater Point State Park comprises 12 acres at the tip of the peninsula in the Rockaways that juts out into the Mott Basin on the eastern shore of Jamaica Bay. The terrain is varied, including beach, wetland and woodlands. The trees, other vegetation and organic life make the park an ideal habitat for migrating and nesting birds. The goal of the park is to preserve the existing natural systems and restore, if feasible, what has been lost. Passive recreation, such as hiking and nature study, are compatible uses for the property. In addition, education programs are in place that make use of the park as an outdoor classroom and laboratory for all ages. Canoe-Picnic Point State Park
Canoe-Picnic Point State Park is only reachable by boat, offering a quiet camping experience in a wooded area with plenty of dock space available. Just south of the camping area is Picnic Point, a picnic ground with tables. The fishing is excellent. For information call: (315)654-2522

Delta Lake State Park
Delta Lake State Park is located on a peninsula extending into Delta Reservoir. The terrain is wooded and generally flat. The park has a sandy beach, picnic areas, hiking and nature trails, a boat launch, fishing for trout, pike, bass, bullhead and perch, and 101 tent, trailer or RV camping sites. Glimmerglass State Park
Glimmerglass State Park, located eight miles outside the village of Cooperstown, overlooks Otsego Lake, the "Glimmerglass" of James Fenimore Cooper's Leatherstocking Tales. The rolling, partially-wooded terrain is host to a wide variety of wildlife. An uphill trail through the forest affords a spectacular view of Otsego Lake; the Beaver Pond and Woodland trails are picturesque and of interest for the variety of wildflowers, shrubs, ferns and mosses. The Hyde Hall Mansion, Covered Bridge, and Beaver Pond Nature Center are within park boundaries and open to visitors. Winter visitors can go tubing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, showshoeing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and winter hiking. For information call: (607)547-8662

Kring Point State Park
Kring Point State Park is a narrow peninsula whose south shore faces Goose Bay and north shore faces the St. Lawrence River. Standing anywhere in the park, visitors see water and many of the 1700 islands for which the region is named. Half of the 108 campsites are on the waterfront and virtually every cabin and campsite has a river or bay view. The park has docks on the river and the bay and a sandy beach on the St. Lawrence. Chittenango Falls State Park
A picturesque 167 foot waterfall is the main attraction of Chittenango Falls State Park! Glacial sculpting over 40 million year-old bedrock is responsible for this scenic feature. An interesting variety of both plants and wildlife may be found along the trails. Visitors can view the falls from the top, walk the winding trail into the gorge view the falls from the footbridge and return to the top along the small trail on the opposite side of the gorge. Harriman State Park
Harriman State Park, located in Rockland and Orange counties, is the second-largest park in the parks system, with 31 lakes and reservoirs, 200 miles of hiking trails, three beaches, two public camping areas, a network of group camps, miles of streams and scenic roads, and scores of wildlife species, vistas and vantage points. Harriman State Park's major facilities include Lakes Welch, Sebago, Tiorati and Silvermine, the Anthony Wayne Recreation Area, Sebago Cabins and Beaver Pond Campgrounds. Max V. Shaul State Park
Max V. Shaul State Park is a small, quiet camping area with 30 wooded tent and trailer sites. The park has shady picnic grounds, as well as playing fields and a playground. There is a nature and hiking trail, fishing is allowed in Panther Creek and winter visitors can cross-country ski. Hudson River Islands State Park
Hudson River Islands State Park facilities are concentrated on the islands of Gay's Point and Stockport Middle Ground. These islands are fragile communities with many rare and endangered plant and animal species. Day-use facilities include picnic areas with grills and nature trail. Lake Welch Beach State Park
Lake Welch Beach State Park's man-made Lake Welch, with its half-mile-long sandy beach in the wooded hills of the Ramapo Mountains, is the largest beach in Harriman State Park. The park offers cool breezes, swimming, fishing, boating, picnicking, hiking and camping in adjacent Beaver Pond Campground. Winter activities include ice fishing and snowmobiling. Allegany State Park
Allegany State Park's 65,000 acres, most of it primitive woodland, make it the largest state park in the system. Two developed areas, Red House and Quaker, have sand beaches and hiking and nature trails that do double duty for horseback riding, biking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. The Red House area has recently added ice fishing to its list of winter activities. Of all the parks in the state system, Allegany is the most attractive to snowmobilers because of its 90 miles of snowmobile trails. Three campgrounds and 27 cabin trails offer over 300 campsites and 300 cabins, more than 150 of them winterized, and three Group Camps available for rental. The newest additions to the park are year-round turnkey cottages, which are fully-equipped with the latest conveniences, and are located in both the Red House and Quaker areas. The old Quaker Store has been completely restored and now houses a park museum. One highlight of the exhibits is a three-dimensional topographical map of the park to orient visitors to its main features. Allegany's mixed oak and hardwood forest, mountains, rolling hills and meadows, streams, ponds and lakes attract devoted outdoors people year-round. For information call: (716)354-9121

Burnham Point State Park
Burnham Point State Park is small and quiet with lightly-wooded campsites, ideal for boating, fishing and relaxing. Boaters can explore local towns, islands and historic sites for miles up and down the scenic river. Popular game fish include bass, pike, muskellunge and walleye. Coles Creek state Park
Coles Creek state Park has wooded and open campsites near a swimming beach on a small sheltered bay on Lake St. Lawrence. The lake is ideal for boating and fishing as well. Grass Point State Park
Grass Point State Park is on a point of land that projects into the American Channel of the St. Lawrence River, known for some of the best fishing in the country. The park is a popular spot for campers and day-users, who come to boat, swim, fish, picnic, or just to relax. Westcott Beach State Park
Westcott Beach State Park is a popular day-use and camping park on Lake Ontario, with rolling, wooded hills and open, grassy meadows sheltered by Henderson Bay. It offers restful campsites located on a bluff, from which the view is spectacular. A small marina is adjacent to the long, sandy beach to accommodate anglers interested in Lake Ontario's excellent black bass fishing.
